Finally ... Microsoft has released Windows Vista Beta 2 for public download.... I'm currently downloading it... Sthit man... Downloading 3.2GB of data in Sri Lanka is never easy... but thatnx to the ADSL link and my good friend Download Accelerator, looks like it'll take more than one day...
If anyone is interested... use the following link to download it...
Browsing using FireFox doesn't work.... it just downloads a 191kb file (Well It didn't work for me)... but with IE 6 or 7 it works fine.
Check out the following links too...

Tech.Ed 2005 Sri Lanka
Bravo Bravo..... "Two Thumbs up"...!!!
I would like to thank Microsoft Sri Lanka and to all who got involved in organizing "Tech.Ed 2005” for giving us this opportunity. Guess we were some of the few fortunate people to attend Tech.Ed at Waters Edge.
Well….. I would like to discuss some of the main events that took place at Tech.Ed. and the ups and downs.
First of all, what ever I say here is my own personal opinion… so no one needs to be upset or be offended. consider this as constructive criticism .

Starting off with the inaugural ceremony, it started at 1 and ½ hours later than the scheduled time Ahhh who can u blame … after all this is Sri Lanka…!! U know what I mean. Anyways it started finally and the ceremony was nice and traditional.
The Drum show was one-of-a-kind… guess everybody enjoyed it. Then came the
Welcome message and chief guest and his message and so on.
Wait a minute…. I forgot to mention the main problem that we had faced… yes... at the entrance we were handed out the final Track and Sessions that were scheduled for the next 3 days.
I was stunned to see the sessions that were scheduled… They had scheduled 2 sessions at a given time covering 2 different areas…. So I like a big shot and went and asked organizer regarding this… and he said “Very sorry … u have to choose one session… since there is a lot to cover” …… now Y didn’t they think about this b4 they scheduled it …!!! Ok now… the whole purpose of me coming to this event is lost (well… other than the Foooooooooooooood ) All areas that was covered by the speakers were very interesting. Well I had no other choice but to CHOOSE…!!! .. And I made some wrong decisions on choosing some… But I learnt shit load of stuff to...

The main event I guess was the “Windows Vista: All You Need to Know” … It was a blast…!!! That was the best of the lot... And Ramnish Singh who conducted it did a marvelous job presenting it and gave away a lot of stuff.. Including Vista Beta1 DVDs… and as he used to say “How Great is that”…
Well it’s very sad that I couldn’t attend all the sessions. Well something is better than nothing... now I’m ok about it…. But coming back to the LABs on the 3rd day, did u know that there was only 1 LAB session for the IT Pros…??!!! Yes it’s true… all other 3 were for the Developers…
“I say Discrimination… “ Haa Haa just kidding….
I expected Tech.Ed to give us some what “Quality and high standard” stuff … nope … was not up to the expectation. The Tech.Ed bag that was given looked very cheap.. I’m sure Microsoft knows what quality looks like. For an example…. I had to knot the bag for it to hold on and peaces came out from time to time… and the pen I got didn’t write… did every one had to face this or was it just Meeeee!!!
Ahh yes… One more thing…. Sri Lankans don’t come in one size.
My friend is pissed off that he got a Tech.Ed T-Shirt that he can’t wear
Party time..!!
On the 15th they had organized an Entertainment night. I have to say this… That was a shit load of fun, Booooz, Food and Dance. Very few chicks… I mean VERY FEW… except the Latin Dancers… That was nice….!! not to mention the wanna beees..!!

Well got to meet a lot of new people… It was gooooood. Well I drank a lot … and Danced a lot… and was a bit high…!!
Nope I was NOT drunk.. Just a Tingngngngngnng…!!
Ahh and a school mate of mine who was a very studious and religious guy… who used to advice us not to boooz and stuff… guess what..... I was stunned to see him Drinking and dancing….. But that was cool. (look what IT can do to people :))
The food was ok.. eatable… but was not spicy at all… Hello…!!! We sri lankans eat spicy food… well it’s not like I didn’t eat… but not much… and I had to make sure that I didn’t fall a sleep in the afternoon session… wish there was a “pillows” a round the corner… I had eaten at Waters Edge and the food was good.
All in all … Tech.Ed was good… but could have been better...
